Hiring Social Media and Fundraising Interns!

EquallyAble Foundation, a Virginia based non-profit organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities. Since 2001, it has transformed the lives of thousands of people with disabilities by providing access to education, equipment, employment and inclusion globally.

EquallyAble is seeking a Social Media Marketing and Development and Fundraising Interns that are ready to take their expertise to the next level. We are looking for someone that can find and capture great content and raise funds even on a slow day! These roles are ideal for someone who is creative, tech savvy and empathic towards making this world a better place.

Social Media Marketing Intern

Responsibilities
Working closely with the EquallyAble team, you will

  • Contribute to the virtual brand and presence of EquallyAble on social media platforms
  • Discover and capture content in the form of photos, videos, and written narratives
  • Keep our donors and stakeholders informed on what is new and upcoming by drafting content for marketing
  • emails with exciting and unique content
  • Take pictures and videos for our social media content
  • Stay on top of new and emerging platforms
  • Suggest ways to stay on top of the latest trends digitally
  • Participate in brainstorming, fundraising and program planning activities

Development and Fundraising Intern
Responsibilities
Working closely with the EquallyAble team, you will

  • Establish fundraising goals and metrics
  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy
  • Raise funds to advance our mission and goals
  • Assist with coordinating events, working with event volunteers and teams in different cities
  • Drafting proposals, developing relationships with donors, and working with staff to craft organizational messaging
  • Keep donors apprised of relevant updates and communications
  • Communicate regularly with organization leadership and staff regarding fundraising data and updates
  • Research and draft lists of individuals and groups who may be interested in donating

Qualifications
This is a perfect opportunity for marketing, political communication and journalism students who are interested in working in a social impact organization and learning more about social media, marketing, fundraising, communications, or nonprofit management. The positions are remote with flexible hours, are paid with up to 20 hours per week.
