Every step they take offers a smile!

Clubfoot is a congenital deformity that twists the foot, ankle and toes. If not treated at an early stage, Clubfoot can lead to a life-time disability. It occurs in 1-3 of every 1,000 births worldwide with evidence of higher rates in developing nations. In India, more than 50,000 children are born with Clubfoot every year. A neglected clubfoot deformity inevitably leads to long-term disability for the child. Treatment is generally unaffordable for thousands of poor families in India.

Like any other preventable deformity, early detection is critical. Ideally, treatment should begin within the first 7–10 days. The entire process takes about five years, but once cured and fitted with a brace, the child can walk normally as any other person, without any aids or appliances.

EquallyAble has partnered with an organization in India to offer treatment and leg braces to cure and correct Clubfoot deformity. With this effort 120 children have benefited. We have heard from our partner that parents and guardians have repeatedly expressed their joy and gratitude when they found that the treatment for their child was available at no cost.

EquallyAble is thankful for your support in making this possible. Not only has your donation impacted families, it offers the possibility for a child not to suffer due to the lack of readily available treatment.

Every step they take offers a smile that brings a sense of relief to their parents and their guardians.
