We see our growth in transforming the landscape of inclusion by investing in the lives of people with disabilities.
Despite various attempts, the social and financial inclusion of people with disabilities remains low for over 56 million people with disabilities in the United States. An alarming 63% are unemployed with household incomes half that of people without disabilities, and with three times the poverty rate than their peers[i]. They often face barriers to inclusion and employment including inaccessible workplaces and community centers, discriminatory practices, and lack of training and support.
EquallyAble is launching the Inclusion360 initiative to help alienate some of these challenges by creating inclusive environments in 4 communities. In promoting inclusion, we will work with broader stakeholder and communities to provide training, support, and resources for children with disabilities. Each inclusive environment will include proven tools and methods to improve inclusions at individual, family and community levels. It will deploy interactive technologies and competitions.
